Everything we create comes from that.

Our approach

We believe every learner deserves access to high-quality, evidence-based literacy instruction. Our resources are designed to give educators and practitioners the tools they need to make a real difference, without spending hours building those tools from scratch.

Our resources are informed by the science of reading and Orton-Gillingham methodology. We draw on the work of researchers like Ehri and Kilpatrick, and filter everything through the lens of what actually works in practice. That combination of research awareness and practical experience is what makes our materials different.

We approach resource design the same way we approach teaching: with care, with evidence, and with the real student in front of us always in mind.

What we believe

Every learner deserves skilled instruction

Access to high-quality, evidence-based literacy instruction shouldn't depend on where you live or how much you can afford. We want to make excellent resources available to as many educators as possible.

Good tools make great teachers better

You already know your students. Our job is to give you materials that are worthy of your expertise and easy to put into practice.

Community makes us all stronger

We are part of the science of reading community, not just selling to it. We mentor, supervise, and collaborate with practitioners because we believe we grow together.

Our story

Spark Literacy Innovations started the way most good things do: out of necessity.

After years of creating custom materials for our own tutoring and coaching practices, we realised two things. First, what we were making was actually really good. Second, other practitioners needed the same things we did, and were spending just as much time making them from scratch.

So we decided to do something about it. Spark Literacy Innovations is the result: a growing library of explicit, systematic, evidence-aligned resources built by people who have spent over 20 years in the field, teaching students, mentoring practitioners, and supervising Orton-Gillingham practitioners. We are proud of what we make and we hope you will be too.
