Who We Are

Your Partners in Literacy

Our Background

We are certified Orton-Gillingham Practitioners through OG Canada and have worked across a range of educational contexts. Our experience includes direct instruction, mentoring colleagues, and facilitating professional learning spaces where thoughtful dialogue is central.

Our Approach

We believe:

  • Staying informed of current research strengthens our teaching

  • Practical application matters as much as theory

  • Questions are a sign of professionalism, not weakness

  • Growth happens best in community

  • No one needs to know everything to be an excellent educator

We focus on what we do well: supporting educators and practitioners as they refine their practice, navigate professional decisions, and stay connected to the work.

Structured Literacy Innovations was founded by two certified Structured Literacy practitioners with over 20 years of combined experience teaching, mentoring, and learning alongside educators.

We created this space because we believe structured literacy practice is ever-evolving. Research grows. Our understanding deepens. Our teaching adapts. Practitioners deserve access to ongoing learning and thoughtful conversation—not just one-time training.

Our Vision

We envision a world where every learner has access to high-quality literacy education and the support they need to succeed. We believe that by equipping educators with the right resources, mentorship, and connections, we can transform literacy outcomes for individuals of all ages.

What This Space Is and What It's Not

This space is:

  • Safe

  • Research-informed

  • Practical

  • Respectful of experience

This space is not:

  • A certification program

  • A one-size-fits-all solution

  • A space for quick fixes or rigid answers
